Four authors offer tips on promoting books as a group or by partnering with other authors during this time of social-distancing and beyond. They reflect on how authors can also use this knowledge to promote their books independently. Learn about creating effective social media posts and blog content, utilizing hashtags, planning virtual and in-person group events, finding creators to partner with, and more.

Rajani LaRocca (author of MIDSUMMER’S MAYHEM, Little Bee Books, 2019; and SEVEN GOLDEN RINGS, Lee & Low, 2020) will talk about planning group events, both virtual and in-person, and how to leverage commons themes and experiences in order to make book promotion both successful and fun.









Lindsay H. Metcalf (author of BEATRIX POTTER, SCIENTIST, Albert Whitman, 2020; FARMERS UNITE! Planting a Protest for Fair Prices, Calkins Creek, 2020; and co-editor of NO VOICE TOO SMALL: Fourteen Young Americans Making History, Charlesbridge, 2020) will discuss how to use a group blog to build an audience by providing readers with clear “takeaways.” Lindsay will discuss user-friendly platforms such as Squarespace, posts that drive the most traffic, and social media techniques that bring people back to the group website.
